Drive & Parking

The City of Sanford publishes the Downtown parking map used to identify public parking areas and on-street parking. Event-day closures can change access, so follow current City notices and posted signs.

SunRail

The Sanford SunRail station connects to Historic Downtown through the City of Sanford trolley. Use SunRail's current station, schedule, and fare tools when planning the rail portion of your trip.

Amtrak Auto Train

Sanford is the Florida terminal for Amtrak Auto Train. The City currently lists a shuttle connection from the Auto Train station to the Sanford Information Center. Confirm current City and Amtrak service before relying on the connection.

Arriving by Boat

Lake Monroe and the St. Johns River bring boaters directly to Sanford's waterfront. The City maintains current Downtown marina and day-slip information, including availability and operating rules.

GETTING AROUND

Once Downtown, slow down and explore.

The historic core, waterfront, and visitor stops are close enough to experience as one Downtown destination, with City transportation available for longer connections.

Walk Downtown

First Street anchors the historic commercial district, with restaurants, shops, entertainment, parks, and the waterfront nearby. Brick streets, curb conditions, construction, and event closures can vary by block.

Free Downtown Trolley

The City of Sanford provides free trolley service connecting the Sanford SunRail station with stops in Historic Downtown. Check the City's current schedule before traveling, then use the live tracker while you are here.

MOVE

Bike & RiverWalk

Sanford RiverWalk is a multi-use Lake Monroe waterfront trail extending nearly five miles and connecting into the regional trail network. It is a useful recreation route as well as a way to experience the waterfront.
